Originally established in 1987, the band Darken has 2 periods. The first period was from their establishment date until 1991. The second period is from 2020 until present. Today, they have 3 members from the first period: Lorenzo Barbier (Guitar), Philos Prud'homme (Guitar), Stephann Monceau (vocals), and the new members are Liam Barbier (Drums, he's the son of Lorenzo), and Henri Pierre Bohers (bass). This line up hasn't changed since the start of the second period.
Their music is written by Lorenzo - vocals by Stephann. They are already writing new material for the band to release - their current favorite song to perform live is called “Don’t Blame Me”.
They each like different styles of Metal so they incorporate those styles into their craft.
When asked if they have any upcoming musical plans, they replied with “Yes and good ones, like the Hellfest next June, we are going to play on the same stage as Metallica (and the same day)... and we have quite a few festivals and concerts to play until the end of the year.
Without mixing and mastering, it took the band around a month to record the album “Welcome to the Light”. They found an engineer at the studio where they worked on their material. They said he produced the album exactly as they wanted.

When I asked, “If you could go back in time to when you were just starting out as a band, and give yourselves a tip of advice, what would it be?” They replied, “To believe deeply in your project and to work very hard to achieve your dream.” If they could say anything to their fans, they would say “We sincerely thank all our fans for their support and we are so happy to be able to share this beautiful project with them and more.... Thank you to everybody!!”
