Moana 2 topped the charts, Bluey stole hearts, and Star Wars crashed Disney+ on May 4th! We recapped Disney Plus 2025’s most-watched movies, hit series, holiday favorites like Home Alone and Zootopia, and streaming trends that made December magical.
Everyone loves Disney+, but not as much as us! As 2025 comes to a close in a flurry of snowflakes (but not here in Miami), streaming, and snack-fueled couch marathons, Disney+ once again reminded us it was the king (or mouse) of cozy-season content.
From Moana 2 dominating family movie night to Bluey quietly becoming the most-watched series in the galaxy (sorry, Jedi), December on Disney+ delivered the magic.
Moana 2: Streaming Royalty
In what surprised absolutely no one with kids under 10, Moana 2 crushed it. Disney’s long-awaited sequel to its oceanic classic racked up over 80 million views, making it the most-streamed movie on Disney+ in 2025. If your household echoed with “We’re voyaging again!” roughly 57 times a week, you weren’t alone.
Bluey: The Unstoppable Pup
The real MVP of the year? A six-year-old blue heeler named Bluey. This Australian animated series became a global streaming juggernaut, pulling in 26.5 million views across Disney+ and Hulu combined. That made Bluey the #1 most-watched series in the entire Disney streaming universe in 2025. Not bad for a pup whose main skills included pretend play, dance breaks, and emotionally wrecking adults in under four minutes.
Star Wars Day: The Force Woke Up—Hard
While lightsabers eventually powered down, Star Wars once again reminded the galaxy who’s boss. On May the 4th, Disney+ logged its biggest single-day traffic spike of the entire year. Fans binged everything from The Mandalorian to Andor, while some dusted off The Phantom Menace and insisted it was “underrated now.” It wasn’t, Greg.
Home Alone Reigned Supreme
Every December, Home Alone did what it always did best: crash the Disney+ top 10 like Marv and Harry through a window. In December 2025, Home Alone took the crown as the #1 most-watched movie globally, followed by Zootopia and Home Alone 2. Because Christmas simply isn’t Christmas without booby traps and talking animals.
Avatar and Zootopia Kept Buzzing
With hype building for Avatar 4 and Zootopia 2, fans revisited the originals, keeping both films locked in the Disney+ top ranks. Zootopia, in particular, continued to be a low-key powerhouse—offering buddy-cop fun with a side of social commentary, just right for winter rewatching.
Honorable Mentions: Seasonal & Special
The Santa Clauses series saw its usual seasonal spike.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (yes, the 2000 Jim Carrey version) broke into global top-10s.
And yes, Frozen still got played. A lot. Again.
Disney+ Dominated December (and the Whole Damn Year)
Whether you were a toddler obsessed with Bluey, a parent emotionally wrecked by Moana 2, or a grown adult yelling “It’s over, Anakin!” for the hundredth time—Disney+ had something for everyone in 2025.
Hats off to Disney+—still delivering that sweet, sweet streaming value, one rewatch and nostalgia bomb at a time. Stay tuned for updates and more in-depth coverage of your favorite celebrities and entertainment news! Create a free membership account with us today!
